THE GALA CONCERT AT UNESCO HEADQUARTERS IN PARIS

This 4 December, at UNESCO Headquarters, on the celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, UNESCO organized, together with partners and artists, a full day dedicated to “Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies for all”.

The theme of the day was inclusive arts. The program included a round table and theater performance with the participation of Jane Constance, UNESCO Artist for Peace, and a Gala concert by Zarifa Mgoyan, known as Zara, UNESCO Artist for Peace.

A beautiful end of the program was the big gala concert on the theme of love and friendship.

Zara performed in concert with the participation of young disabled artists including Yulia Samoylova, Valentin Tkachenko and the ensemble of “Singing Hands”. She has sung wonderful songs about love and friendship, in French, Serbian, English, Russian and Sign Language. Mireille Mathieu even joined her voice to Zara’s calls for providing opportunities to children with a visual and auditory deficit to appear on stage.
