Friday, June, 7th in Dvortsovaya square there was the beginning of the two-days musical festival “From classics to rock”. In the first day of the festival a world famous tenor Andrea Bocelli performed together with the invited soprano-vocalist of the the Viennese opera Aida Garifullina and violoncellist Anastasia Petrishak. The great Italian tenor’s lovers got the opportunity to know the heir of the artistic family Matteo Bocelli and enjoy the performance by well-known father and son on one stage.

The concert was held accompanied by the orchestra of the Michailovsky theatre, ruled by the world-famous conductor – Eugene Kohn.
The special guest of the evening and a pleasant surprise for thousand of Petersburg citizens happened to be Zara. The singer is known for her duets with the ledgend of the Italian stage. She performed with him in the Kremlin Palace, in maestro’s motherland on the stage of “The Theatre of Silence” in Toskana and at he gala-concert “Celebrity Fight Night” in Rome.

In Petersburg Zara and Andrea Bocelli sang two compositions: “The Prayer” and “Time to Say Goodbye”. This day more than 40 thousand people got together in Dvortsovaya square. Verdi, Schubert, Puccini, Rimsky-Korsakov’s music could be heard all over the square and beyond the Winter palace.

Andrea Bocelli confessed, that he performs in Russia with pleasure, he is a lover of Russian classical literature, art, and, of course, music.

Zara thanked maestro and the Petersburg audience for such a wonderful evening, pointing out, that the whole concert was beyond praise. “For me it’s a joy to perform with Andrea on one ground in my native city. When I sing with him, I feel, I sing with the God. I hope, the audience can remember this concert for a long time”, said the singer.
