The singer Zara told to “Komsomolka” newspaper, why she likes to bring her children to Vitebsk and what her compere partner at the “Golden Grammophone” award in Minsk is.

The singer Zara doesn’t wear feathers and naked outfits at the performances, but she has children, songs and charitable projects – a kind of quiet life. But her eastern origin can’t be unseen: behind the image of subtle diva there is a determined soul, the singer, who easily changes her masks, including the new video “Negordaya”. It’s got not less than one and half million of views on YouTube for a few days, that means the song is able to contest in “Golden Grammophone” award.

We remind you, that the award is going to be held in Minsk for the third time right after the solemn ceremony in Moscow. It always means more than ten the most popular Russian artists and the best comperes, this year Zara and Nikolay Baskov will be the comperes of the ceremony in the Belorussian capital.

– Baskov is a brilliant singer and a perfect partner, – the singer reflects with pleasure to the questions from “Komsomolka”. – We performed not once not only as artists, who sings in a duet, but as compere partners as well: we conducted a few ceremonies, often work together at the events. It’s difficult to find more careful and attentive partner on the ground, who perceives the audience so subtly.

“I love walking in Vitebsk, accompanied by my parents and children”.

– Is there a difference between being a singer or a compere at the stage.

– As long as I remember myself, I was always singing and dreamt to perform. Of course, it’s more comfortable for me as a singer, it’s my vocation, my profession. But, as I have the acting education, I’m often offered to take part in theatrical plays, in movies. Not once I worked as a compere, and I feel more confident, being beside such a profi, as Nikolay Baskov. So I accepted the offer to be a compere of one of the most respectful awards in the pop music sphere – “Golden Grammophone” for my dear and lovely audience in Minsk.

– You are a very common guest at “Slavyansky bazaar in Vitebsk”, now it’s time to talk about Minsk citizens – how could Belarus charm you?

– Vitebsk is a unique city for me. I miss my family and children so much, when I leave them for a concert tour. If the conditions are good, I try to bring my parents and sons with me. We arrive in Vitebsk together, here “Slavyansky bazaar” takes place every year. We enjoy these several days, visiting Belarus, so much, we enjoy Belarusian nation, hospitality and the comfortable atmosphere of Vitebsk itself. When we have a spare time between the rehearsals and performances, we start for a walk along narrow streets, to the town of masters, and, as a rule, we have lunch somewhere, I think , everybody knows, that the food is beyond praise here.

– How do your sons support you? Is it more difficult to be with them at the concert tours?

– My sons support me at work – especially when I take them to the concert tours ( laughing here)! The elder son takes always care of me: “Mummy, drink a cup of tea. Mummy, there is only 15 minutes left before the performance”. He is my little director. Recently, the video for the song “Negordaya” was released, and every day they watch, how many views I have, they dream me to have a silver, and than a golden YouTube button, as soon as possible.

“I can’t go to a concert tour without the socks, my mom has made”.

– By the way, in a new video “Negordaya” you were a blonde, it looks very unusual. It’s a bit of Loboda style! And have you ever had sudden image changes in your life?

– When I was a child, I looked at other children, I wanted to have blue eyes, fair hair and skin. Getting older, I learnt how to accept my appearance and to love myself, all my parents gave me. We are so different, but each of us has something unique, something very memorable, – we should estimate it in ourselves, I try to teach my children to do the same. My profession demands a constant transformation, to try a new mage is interesting and exciting. But after a long shootings I enjoy to come back to me real. And for the video “Negordaya” Alan Badoev totally changed me, every new picture was like being out of comfort zone!

– Do you choose outfits yourself?

– I always create and choose dresses for scene and every day life myself. My outfit depends on the song message, the performance we rehearse, and, of course, the conception of the event. Some dresses and costumes are bought from famous designers, and something is ordered. My friend Eliso helps me in this matter. Together we created the best and most beautiful concert outfits.

– Except couture outfits, what five things must be always in your concert baggage?

– You can find everything there, it’s packed for the most unexpected trips and long-term concert tours. I don’t have time to pack my bag? It’s not a problem, it’s always done. Besides, you can’t know for sure, how many days you are going to be on a trip. Thus, you can find there: regenerating masks, eyepatches, hairdryer, brushes, cosmetics. Certainly, there is warm clothes, concert dresses, shoes, that I choose for moving, and concert shoes. Warm wooly socks are must-have in my suitcase, my mother knit them for me with love. I put on them both on a plane, and on trains. I can’t go anywhere without them, it’s true. The same concerns a warm missing for home.
